Amazon hasn't formally announced what is in the 1.14.1 update, but Teleread has noticed, and I can confirm, that the Amazon Kindle Twitter account has been touting new features in the Kindle for PC app, including the ability to read children’s books and comic books. Download the Kindle desktop app. The Kindle application lets you not only manage, but also read Kindle books on the computer. It’s available for the following systems: Kindle for Windows 7, XP and Vista; Kindle for Windows 8; Kindle for Mac; When you go to free Kindle apps page on Amazon and click on the Download button, the version that fits the operating system of your computer will start downloading immediately.
One of the features that makes Kindles very useful is that in addition to being able to carry hundreds of books around with ease, you also get a full text-search capability. This can be handy if, for example, you need to find a technical term or all the references to a character's name. Access your Kindle's search functionality via the Options bar.
- Though not necessarily revolutionary, the Kindle for Mac app does the job. Among other benefits, it syncs your last read page with Whispersync, syncs Kindle notes, and promises to utilize Windows 7’s touch technology, allowing readers to pinch-zoom, and, in future releases, turn pages with finger swipes.
- Select the zoom percentage based on how large you want the text to appear. 3 And next, position the zoom box around the text you want to zoom in on in the PDF document. Use the directional arrow keys to position the box correctly and press the Enter key when finished.

Kindles With Keyboards
1.Type the term you want to search for with the built-in keyboard. The term appears in the search bar, next to an icon indicating what kind of search will be done.
2.Use the five-way toggle to highlight the 'find' on the bar if it's not already showing. Other options allow you to search for the term in all content on your Kindle, in titles in the Kindle store, or on Wikipedia or Google.
3.Press the center of the five-way switch to search. Use the 'Next Page' and 'Previous Page' buttons of your Kindle to scroll through the search results.
Tip
- The touch-screen instructions also work for the Kindle App for Android and iOS.
